I have just re-installed Windows XP and GBPVR on my client PC (I have GBPVR installed as a server on a separate PC).
I am not getting any video (black screen only) when playing back live tv or video (mpeg2 and DivX/Xvid .avi) from my collection. I can hear the audio correctly though.
I have tried several settings including different video renderers and also registering the Cyberlink BDA multiplexer without success.
I used to be have full functionality on this client PC, so I guess I am missing something on the new install.
Any ideas?

I guess you need a mpg-decoder ( e.g.: http--www.free-codecs.com-download-MPV_Decoder.htm )and a divx/xvid avi-decoder.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

It's been a few weeks now, been busy, but I still have the problem after installing the K-lite codec pack.

I have two cards on the server
  1. Dvico dvb-t
  2. Hauppage PVR150 (using SVHS in)

The symptoms are that when I play the live TV from a source from the DVB-T card, I get one frame displayed and no sound.

When I play live TV from the PVR150 I get nothing at all (black screen)

I can play the timeshift files (MPG2) from the client using Windows Media Player

Any further suggestions?

thats cause you cant stream dvr-ms files(guessing thats the mux you are using) (these setting are on the server not the client)
you need to run get your cyberlink mux registered then select that in the misc tab #2
run the mux checker to see if it registered properly

I have registered the cyberlink mux and checked it with the MuxChecker.exe

Quote:Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Temp\mpgmux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.1307

I am certain that the server is configured correctly because it used to stream to my client before I re-installed windows.

Below is a sample from my pvr2.exe-native.log

On the Playback Tab of the config on my client I have the following MPEG-2 Playback options:
  • System Default
  • MPEG Video Decoder

Neither of these have worked.

BTW I can play divx files from my video library, but recordings in MPG2 fail just like Live TV (only show the first frame).

Is there something in the K-lite codec settings I can set?

yeah that mpeg decoder is the standard one it never works although others wll say that it should
you can either download mpv from codecs.com or another of your choice nvidia.,cyberlink etc

put the klite codec pack in the bin Smile sorry i hate codec packs just a personal thing

Should have listened to HtV's advice. I just installed the MPEG decoder from http--www.free-codecs.com-download-MPV_Decoder.htm and registered it.

All good now Smile

I will add that to my re-install documentation.

Thanks for your help.
