Ok I've turned off all firewalls on both server and client, unistalled Mediaportal which had installed the mpa and mpv codecs so they have been removed. Changed the bda mulitplexer to ts-mux on both machines. Still same problem though no video or sound although it doesn't seem to be crashing anymore. I then changed them both back to dvr-ms as I don't think the vista machine will know how to play .ts files. Anyway doesn't work either way! Getting frustrated now so any more ideas would be greatly appreciated Smile

Thanks

Forgot to say that a program the server recorded yesterday I can play with no problems on the client via Windows media player via the network if that helps?

I think alot of people use the cyberlink mux, maybe do a search on that one.
I don't use it myself so I am not very sure.

Finally got it to work by using cyberlink mux. Smile Shame it takes about 20 seconds to start or change channels but I guess that's just one of the isues of using it in client mode? Also still not sure why dvr_ms didn't work as Media Player can play these files in Vista. Is this something you'll be looking to add to streaming on gbpvr sub?

Thanks

Glad you got it working. Sub is having a few days off, so it might take a little while for him to answer questions. Probably best if you check in sometimes to check if he's back and available, then ask your question again.
