I'm not really sure, I think you can use things like ChrisTV or Dscaler for capturing video from that device.
You will just need a decent PC to do the recording / encoding in software.

Pivovy,
You have given me some hope. Can you show me your .ini file? I presume you had to add an entry for this device. Thanks

martint123 Wrote:I'm not a ini wizard - but all my tuners are "sleeping" so yours may not be an error in itself. You are correct. Sleeping is the expected status when the Capture Device is not currently in use by GB-PVR. You should see it change to say what the recording file name is or you should see Live TV when you are actually using it.

The record sleeping is no longer a problem. I cannot get GB-PVR to recognize my card. It is a Sabrent TV USB 2.0. I have added an entry in the .ini file but am sure I am missing something (am at work and cannot show here). I believe that this card does not have a built-in MPEG encoder. I have read posts where other people are using this card with GB-PVR but have had no success myself. I have downloaded GraphEdit but , as yet, not sure how to use it.

You mean "direct.ini"? It is used by direct recording plugin and (I believe) has no effect on GraphRecorder; you don't have to edit it.
First, start watching live tv in any other app (preferably Dscaler). When the tv is playing, run graphedit and press CTRL-G, choose your graph and click OK. Working graph will be imported directly into GraphEdit and after you save it you can play around with it all you want. (In case with Dscaler, you only need to replace the very last filter with "Video Renderer" from DirectShow filters). Make sure you save it. Install GraphRecorder plugin, http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/GraphRecorder and select it in capture sourses. Then in Configuration->External via graph(a)->graph-preview specify the graph file you saved. This should get Livetv working. For timeshifting/rec the process is simila, but the graphs should use gbpvr writer as the last filter. I'll post screens of my graphs soon. p.s. sorry, wasn't following the thread..0

You have been a great help. I will experiment when I get home. Do you see a problem testing with WINDVR? This is the software that came with the card. It works OK, but does not offer anywhere near the functionaliy and interface of GB-PVR.
Screens of my graphs are attached (we can't post .GRF files, they most likely won't even open on a different system). If you can't find mpeg encoders/muxer(required for recording and timeshifting), just download Avivo.
p.s. never tried Windvr but if it uses directshow, graphedit should be able to steal the graph from there.

Must be missing something. Downloaded and installed GraphRecorder but it isn't recognized as a plug-in. If I try to add it, I can only select .exe files and there isn't one. Please excuse my ignorance.
