WinTv-HVR 950

I have a WinTv-HVR 950, however gbpvr does not recognize it and it is not listed in the drop down list, however the HVR 900 is, but if I select that it says the drivers are not installed.

Any help will be appreciated.

run filtercheck.exe and post results...

also there should be a page on wiki for adding it yourself..

I have gone through the procedure on WIKI to add my card, but it still does not recognize it.

If you haven't found filtercheck.exe yet, it's located at:

c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr

Just wanted to let you know that the bda.ini is inaccurate and that is why you cant find the tuner, it is listed as

[Hauppauge HVR-950]
FILTER_TUNER=WinTV HVR-980 BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=WinTV HVR-980 BDA Capture

You bda file should look say the following instead

[Hauppauge HVR-950]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=WinTV HVR-950 BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=WinTV HVR-950 BDA Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I had the same issue today when installing the 950Q
And for those that want to use QAM with the 950Q - please note the Q as this is slightly different to the 950 see below and add the following to your bda.ini

[Hauppauge HVR-950q (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=2
FILTER_TUNER=WinTV HVR-950 BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=WinTV HVR-950 BDA Capture

Ok, I looked into this and found the original "HVR-980" were correct. Some installs use these driver names. I'm not sure whether this related to different hardware in the stick, or whether it was changed with a later driver. I suspect it was a hardware change in the stick. Either way, I need to leave these existing entries unchanged so as not to break things for existing users.

I'll add the following. Its probably worth updating your entries to match (and reset the capture source card type) to ensure the next upgrade goes smoothly.
