Hi All,

I'm new to this PVR stuff. I've just binned Vista x64 (with media center).
and reverted back to XP.

The GB-PVR seems to be what I need to schedule recordings, I've been reading the wiki and I'm a bit bamboozled.

I have a Haup. 150, MCE remote with IR blaster.(& STB)

After having a read I think I need :-

An EPG grabber plugin & a channel changer plugin. Is that correct ?

Can somebody advise good plugins (for UK EPG).

Tried xmltv GUI - no joy though

Any help appreciated.

I use xmltv GUI, I chose it because it seemed the simplest to setup, when you say no joy what actually happened?

It is my understanding that most UK GBPVR fans use XMLTV-GUI and complaints are rare.

The GBPVR Wiki at
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...nelChanger
says

Quote:For using Hauppauge IR blasters (one connected through capture card) use HaupBlast.exe found in gbpvr’s folder

Good Luck

Are you watching analog (normal channels 1-5) TV, or are you connecting to an external DVBT / Sky / cable box/

The channel changer is only needed for beaming IR commands to external boxes if you're using the latter option. You won't need it for tuning the PVR150 internal (analog) tuner.

IMHO your easiest option is actually buying a DVBT (freeview) tuner card as this gives you all the digital channels without messing around with an external box AND the EPG data is grabbed automatically from the ether.

Thanks for the replies. I'm using a set top cable box, the IR blaster was changing the channel on that.

Thanks for the info about "HaupBlast.exe" for the channel changing.

When I say I had no joy with XMLTV-GUI, I mean it didn't work. I selected a few EPG sources, the Radio times one and another couple of UK ones. I got 0 bytes downloaded though.

I'll have another mess about with it now I know I'm messing with the right thing!

Thanks for the replies peeps Smile

I would recommend the xmltv download application written by Alan Birtle to create your EPG XML file for importing into gbpvr.

My XMLTV-GUI settings have worked for years ...

XML tab --- Save listings to ... should be the file set in GBPVR Config app.
Grabbers tab --- UK_RT and nothing else
Postprocessors tab --- UK_RT_ALT_XMLTV and nothing else

Good Luck

Silly question, when you selected the Radio Times grabber, did you also select the channels you required (button towards the bottom of the form)?
GBPVR 1.4.7
Hauppauge PVR150, Hauppauge Nova-T 9200
Nvidia 6200 S-Video to WS TV
AMD 3200, HD 250GB and 500GB
NTL Samsung with Red-Eye Serial

That's probably my fault ... "and nothing else" was misleading (or just plain wrong) !

Apologies
