I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Regular cable used to work, but ever since I got QAM working (I had the cable plugged into the analog port), regular cable has not worked.

Now I've got my cable line running to a splitter, and then to BOTH ports on the HVR 1600. Unless I'm mistaken this should enable the digital port to get QAM, and the analog port to get everything else. But like I said, ever since I got QAM working I have not been able to tune any analog channels. Just get a blank screen for between 1 - 10 seconds, than back to the program guide.

Here are my logs:

The encoder filter seems to be refusing to connect for some reason. There is no solid clues why though in the logs. Are you sure no other software is using the device in the background? (mce etc)

I also have the HVR 1600, it's set up like yours (splitter to both inputs) and I tune QAM and analog just great. I assume WinTV works to tune both. Check to make sure you have two sources set up in config, one for analog, and one for QAM.

I don't have MCE, but I'll do a reboot just to make sure nothing else is running.

Does the Hauppauge "Autostart IR" use the tuner? Thats currently running...

Reboot changed nothing.

I also unplugged the cable to the analog port on the 1600 and plugged into a TV and was able to view analog channels. So I know the cable has got a signal...

Does the WinTV software managed to view analog channels?

You know, I have not devoted much time to figuring out the Win TV software. It has found analog channels in the past, but I"m playing with it right now and it can't seem to find anything at all

But I may be doing it wrong. Like I said, I have not been playing with WinTV to much. What i'm doing is in the channel suite, clicking Source, Analog, and Auto scan. So far nothing.

I suspect its having the same sort of problem GB-PVR is having.

Maybe a driver reinstall?

The driver/WinTV re-install worked. GBPVR is now playing both QAM and analog channels.

Thanks for the help Sub.
