I've played with the chosen devices.. and now when i scan i pickup more channels.. however none of them seem to work to give any schedule information.

Ok, so the scan is now working and you're getting channels.

On the EPG thing, hit the 'update epg' button, wait for it to complete, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

I can see an error in the logs. It looks like its encountering some data it doesnt like, and isnt dealing with correctly. Given it works for others in th UK using the same streams, I'm wondering whether its due to poor signal, resulting in the app trying to process some incomplete data.

If you cant find any alternative (improving signal etc), you could try using the UK Radio Times XMLTV source. Lots of users in the UK use this.

You download the xmltv grabber from http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/, then run it and it'll produce an xmltv file. Delete your capture source in the config app and recreated, but this time set the EPG Source to xmltv, and point it at your xmlv file.

Yeah, the xmltv thing is only going help avoid the crash you were getting when it tried to pull in the DVB EPG listings. Its not going to get you any extra channels.

I suspect you'll need to improve you signal to get a full compliment of channels.

Might be worth checking the aerial cable you're using to connect into the Nova-t first. I set up a Freeview box for my mother-in-law a couple of years back and it would only see 3 out the 6 transmitter MUXs at weak signal levels. I changed the coax connecting the aerial wall socket to the STB and everything locked solid.
