Hi everyone! Smile

I've just reformatted my PC and am slowly getting all my apps reinstalled.

I've installed 1.2.13 but cannot get a TV picture, though each channel has audio. My machine is running on XP SP3, Hauppauge PVR150, Schedules Direct.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Johnny

Sounds like video codec missing as a quick guess. Did you re-install one?? And Mpeg2 video codec.

If you get audio but no video, then its almost always caused by the user not having an MPEG2 video decoder installed. Also, in this case you'll probably only have 'system default' listed as the only video decoder option in the config app.

Try installing this decoder:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm

EDIT: psycik bet me to it...

Thanks for the speedy replies!

Set your Mpeg decoder (inside the configuration application under playback) to be the name of the MPV Decoder (I don't actually know what's it's called). And then try a video again...

There were instructions on that page for installing the decoder (ie, running regsvr32)

:o...I guess I ought to pay closer attention, huh?

Yep, the instructions on that page did the trick! I've got video and audio on live TV now. Thank you psycik and sub for your efforts! Smile

Now the bad news. When viewing a video from the library, I have video, but no audio. Another codec issue?

In addition, my Hauppauge remote does not work.

I'm sure I'll get things sorted with your great help.

Thanks again!

What type of file were you playing from the video library? yes though, probably a missing decoder.

For the remote, which remote do you have exactly?

It was an .mpg file. It's the same story in Media Player, no sound, so I guess it is a codec problem.

I'm not very bright when it comes to this stuff; what the heck do I do now?

The remote is the one that comes with the Hauppauge PVR 150. I guess it's the standard remote?

This one:

Try installing the audio decoder from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm, then select it on the playback tab of the config app. If that doesnt help, google for AC3Filter and install that.

For that remote, assuming you installed the Hauppauge IR software, you should just have to click the 'fix hauppauge remote settings' button in the config app, then reboot.
