I'm sure this is something to do with my remote config but I can't figure out what. I have it set to send ctrl-x and ctrl-z (I have a firefly remote and this is set to send ^X and ^Z. It send ^S for stop and ^P for play and this works). but it doesn't adjust the volume. the logs say:

2008-07-15 19:52:51.375 VERBOSE [1] No key mapping found for: ^SHIFTKEY
2008-07-15 19:52:51.375 VERBOSE [1] No key mapping found for: ^X
2008-07-15 19:52:53.187 VERBOSE [1] No key mapping found for: ^SHIFTKEY
2008-07-15 19:52:53.187 VERBOSE [1] No key mapping found for: ^X

what does this mean exactly? is it sending '^' + SHIFTKEY and then '^' plus X? I can adjust the volume with left and right, but not whilst I'm playing music, which is doing my nut in. Thanks for any help.

Its not clear to me what the log messages are saying, but either way it sounds like your firefly remote isnt correctly emulating a Ctrl-X/Z keypress. The first thing you should check is that you can adjust the volume using these keys using the keyboard. If you can, then you'll have to fiddle around with the FireFly remote software to try to get it sending the key strokes correctly.

thanks for the quick reply. Seems that the keyboard wasn't working either, but looking up a bit in the log files I noticed that the key mappings that were loaded did not include ctrl-x or ctrl-z. modified the videoplayer.xml in the keymapping directory and voila, it works. now to figure out why music library 2 doesn't change the volume when it gets a ^X or ^Z.

Thanks for the help
