Hi all,

I'm pretty new to this forum so please appologize if I put my post in the wrong place.
First of all thanks to Sub for this great work! I'm using it for quite a while now and I really like it.

To make it short: I had to switch from my PVR-350 to a Nova-SE2. Since then my MVP does not work any longer. I get the menu, can even watch previous recorded files but no live TV. The TV screen just goes black for a bit and then the server for the MVP crashes.

To my hardware: A 1.8 GHz AMD Duron with 512 MB Ram, Hauppauge Nova-SE2 and a MVP. It is a clean install of windows xp sp2.
DVB-S is working, I can watch TV with wintv and even see a picture when scanning the sattelite. The scanning crashes every now and then despite the Gvpvrtsmon patch. Installed is the lates version 1.2.13.

The system was working for a long time as long as I could use the PVR-350.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Thanks sub for the quick response. Attached is (hopely) a zip file with the log files. It includes several attempts scanning the sattelite. According to the thread lenor mentioned I can not use DVR-MS mux with the MVP. What do I have to do to change it? Is there an other thread explaining it? DVB-S is quite new to me.

Unfortunately I cant see any error in the logs. What does that crash message say?

I'd double check you have that GBPVRTSMon.ax patch applied correctly.

To create .mpg files that the MVP can play you need to use either the Cyberlink or ATI mux. Find these muxes in this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=25630. Try the Cyberlink 5.0.1207 mux. Install the mux, and set it as the preferred mux on the Misc2 tab of the config app.

Thanks sub, that helped a bit. I checked twice about the patch, stopped everything and copied it again. Still it fails during scan. Strangely always at a different transponder. Last time it crashed at 71 from 77. I got a 'Unhandled exception has occured in your application....' error.
For the MVP I think I have to play around with the different mux. there was no 5.0.1207 mux in the download but several other close by.
I could watch live tv with the (5.0.0.1307) but it failed when changing to a different channel.

sounds familiar to me Smile is it astra 19.2 you are scanning on? if so, you might like to update / modify your 0192.ini (in gbpvr/bda/dvb-s) according to this thread here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=36206 scanning stopped crashing on my machine when i loaded up the more up to date (and as i guess slightly differnt :confusedSmile transponder list from kingofsat.net. if you like i can send you my (modified) ini, just give a message

Hi lenor,

that's exactly what I'm trying to do. Strangely it is not always the same transponder where it fails. Can you upload your modified 0192.ini please. Besides the crashes I'm missing several channels like RTL, ... Smile
Maybe some of the missing channels are one of the 'unknown' ones.

hm... just made a fresh scan, did not find rtl germany neither...
this is RTL austria for substitute:
T:12226,H,27500,34~NID:1~ONID:1~TSID:1091~P:28800~V:201~A:202~L:ger~PMT:200~TXT:203~PCR:8191~N:>RTL Austria

put the line in your scan-1.cache, than map the channel and go :-)

edit:
oh, had a look closer, it DID find ;-) this is RTL germany:
T:12187,H,27500,34~NID:1~ONID:1~TSID:1089~P:12003~V:163~A:104~L:ger~PMT:44~TXT:105~PCR:163~N:>RTL Television
