Hi,

I recently upgraded from 1.2.9 to 1.2.13

As gbpvr.exe is deprecated in 1.2.13, I have now started using pvrx2.exe as the GUI.

Everything seems OK, but everytime I go to playback an old r3ecording I made back when I used gbpvr.exe, pvrx2.exe crashes.

Any ideas?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub,

I think the problem was with my installation method.

I just ran the .msi for 1.2.13 which coped over the top of the 1.2.9 install, so I still had all my settings etc. bu the playback was busted.

After I started this thread, I unistalled GBPVR completely, then did a clean install of 1.2.13 and reconfigured everything as per my 1.2.9 install, and now I can watch the old recordings with no problems through Video Library.

Anyway, when I did the uninstall I deleted everything so I can't reproduce the problem and zip up the logs. Sorry!

But it's all good now.

Is it advised to completely uininstall previous versions of GBPVR before upgrading, just for future reference? Using the old GUI, I didnt find this necessary but maybe I was just lucky.

Thanks,
Mike.

I usually recommend people just install over the top of previous release. The install procedure is designed to work this, and should result in an identical set of files to a clean install, but with the users settings and database retained.

I suspect it was just a case of bad luck, like a file being unable to be upgraded or something.
