I'm fairly new to this so treat me gently Smile...

I've installed the latest version of gbpvr and it's up and running. All Freeview DVB-T channels display video, but the only channels I get sound on are TV One (AC3) and TV3 (AC3). I'm fairly sure this will be a codec issue, but having tried numerous options in the config without success, I hope that someone on this forum can point me in the right direction.

Can someone please advise what MPEG-2 Playback Codecs and Advanced codecs I should use to get sound on all channels?

Incidentally, the HVR-3000 card works perfectly with Cyberlink PowerCinema, but I'd much prefer to use gbpvr Smile

Thanks,

Simon

Under your config->Playback tab what are your Advanced Codec settings?

Sounds like the Powercinema AAC decoder doesn't work with GBPVR. Try installing the monogram one from:

BTW are you getting 5.1 Surround Sound from the TV1 and TV3? Have you installed an AC3 decoder other than Powercinema?

I've installed the monogram AAC decoder (or at least I think I have). I droppped the mmaacd.ax file into the root of the gbpvr directory and restarted the service, but perhaps this is not the right place for that file? Whatever, I've still got no sound on anything apart from the AC3 channels of TV1 and TV3.

I've posted 4 snaps of my current MPEG-2 Playback and Advanced Codec settings. The first shows my current config and the other 3 show the options under audio decoder, audio renderer and H.264 Decoder. There are no options listed under AAC Decoder and HE-AAC Decoder, only System Default.

BTW, I'm not sure if I'm getting 5.1 sound from TV1 and TV3 (I'm just focussing on getting any sound at all at the momentWink). As for other AC3 decoders being installed, it's possible, but only as an unintended side effect of installing another app in the past. Perhaps the drop down lists shown in my snaps might answer this question?

Any ideas?

You need to register the codec

regsvr32 <file location> mmaacd.ax

So if it's in your GB-PVR directory it'll be

regsvr32 c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\mmaacd.ax

Then select the Monogram AAC Decoder in the two AAC codec options.
