Hi,

I'm visiting a friend in the states and hope to get a GBPVR system up for use with his AT&T IPTV digibox. I was wondering has anyone tried this before and do they have any tips?

He already has a Hauppauge HVR-950 which receives the RF signal from the AT&T box, but he has no IR blaster for controlling the AT&T box? Can anyone make a recommendation of a blaster that works reliabily with GBPVR and the AT&T box (Motorola VIP1200)?

Thanks!

You might be able to get IPTV working with UbuStream.

There isn't any reason MCE remote and blaster and one of the IR programs that can capture the Uverse remote commands shouldn't work.
The Uverseusers website has a workaround for Windows MCE users. Obviuously this isn't for GBPVR users, but I thought I would mention that they can at least control ther Uverse settop boxes.

I couldn't remember which IR program would be best so I had to do some searching.

HIP - Setting HIP to use MCE
IRserver - Setting up to blast (with MCE blaster)

Intelliremote - Mentions using USB-UIRT to blast. No specific support for MCE blaster.
EventGhost - Does not support MCE blaster

According to this http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/MCE_Remote_FAQ the blaster is supported in EventGhost.

I was able to get the IR Blaster supplied with the Hauppauge remote to work. It took me a while to figure it out though... I don't remember the code, though... sorry!
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!
