It seems that GBPVR like the tuner on my old VCR will not receive channels above 125 or so.....anyway, it will not receive my Canadian digital cable tv channels in the 100s 200s 300s 400s etc. (Oddly, it tunes in a channel at 132, however)

That's a bummer! Is there anyway to use the internal tuner to receive channels above 125? The ZAP2it enters most of them into the EPG (again, oddly skipping some), but of course this is just a listing. The Channels are not really available.

I have tried adding them manually to the channel configuration, but, again that is only a channel listing.

I don't really want to use the external tuner of the digital cable box or the satellite receiver.

There is no way to do this without using an external tuner such as a digital cable box.

These channels are digital transmissions, so cannot be tuned in by an analog video capture device.

I am having the same problem. One odd thing is that when I select a high channel (408) sometimes it records static and other times it records a totally different channel. My whole idea behind getting this setup was to record the Formula 1 season.

How do you configure the capture card and the digital cable box. Right now I just have a splitter coming out of the wall. One end goes to the digital cable box and the other goes to my PVR-500 card. This is obvously bypassing the cable box so I assume that is why there are no high channels.

I am very new at this so please forgive my ignorance.

Do I need some other hardware??
