Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Logs attached.

It seems that with internalTsReader enabled, it tries to interpret the stream as an mpeg-2 stream?

No, that doesnt seem to be the case. In your logs it appears to correctly see it as H.264:
Quote:2008-08-18 21:05:41.609 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
2008-08-18 21:05:41.609 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
2008-08-18 21:05:41.609 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
2008-08-18 21:05:41.609 VERBOSE - CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8)
2008-08-18 21:05:41.609 VERBOSE - NVIDIA Audio Decoder
2008-08-18 21:05:41.609 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
2008-08-18 21:05:41.609 VERBOSE - SOURCE

I'm wondering if your use of the NVIDIA Audio Decoder is somehow involved in this problem. For comparison sake, your previously supplied NipTuck recording gave both audio and video here using the internal reader, and the following filter list:

Right. I was wondering in the filter list, it mentions the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer when internalTsReader is used and not without Tsreader?

I tried changing Audio Decoders, even downloaded the Elecard one. Still no luck.

When the external TS reader is used, it also employs the Haali media splitter. I might try uninstalling it to see if it has any impact.

It depends on the source. The haali reader is kind of a combined source/demux in one filter. When you use the internal TS reader (GBPVR TS Reader) it uses the Microsoft Demux to do the demultiplexing. Most other third party TS source work this way, for example TSFileSource and HDTVPump both rely on the Microsoft Demux to do the demultiplexing.

Did you look in PVRX2.exe-native.log to confirm that decoder was really being used? I have the feeling it is always using the 'system default' MPEG1 Layer 2 decoder, rather than what you might have selected on the playback tab. ie, I wonder if its still using the nvidia one.

I should add that I can play this via GraphEdit. In this scenario it does not use the mpeg-2 demultiplexer and is seems to be the same as externalTsReader.

Yes:

2008-08-18 23:32:16.703 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
2008-08-18 23:32:16.703 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
2008-08-18 23:32:16.703 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
2008-08-18 23:32:16.703 VERBOSE - CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8)
2008-08-18 23:32:16.703 VERBOSE - Elecard Audio Decoder
2008-08-18 23:32:16.703 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
2008-08-18 23:32:16.703 VERBOSE - SOURCE
2008-08-18 23:32:16.703 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)

Strangly enough the elecard decoder is not selectable in GBPVR config. But if you select System Default, this is the one it chooses.

I dont know then. Its definitely something screwy with decoders or renderers on your machine though, because I can playback your recordings just fine.

Is there a particular version of this Microsoft Demux I should be using?
