The server next to me just woke up at a few minutes to the hour and fell asleep again shortly after (5 minutes to standby set here).

If a pending recording is cancelled, maybe some days in advance of its date/time, does the "wake up call" list, sent to windows for getting out of standby stay in place?

Does windows remember them all itself from being given a list, of does gbpvr have to set them up each time it comes out of standby.

No problem, just curiosity I guess.

GB-PVR sets up the wake up times when the recording service starts (and at the time a new recording is added). It doesnt attempt to cancel wake up requests if a recording is later cancelled. Windows only remembers these wake up requests while GBPVRRecordingService.exe is still running. If its restarted, previous wake up requests are forgotten by windows and a new set requested.

Many thanks for that, so with my wake.cmd script re-starting the recording service and the server going into standby regularly during the day, then the chances of a phantom wakup are very slim and certainly not from so long ago.

I found the log refers to an OID for a wakeup time, but it no longer exists in the database to find out what the program was - I'll have a peek in the backups.

thanks again.
