I originaly had only a pvr350 installed in my system and all was well.

I have since installed a nova-t alongside this and I cant seem to record anything from the nova-t, the 350 still seems to work but video seems to be skipping frames a bit more than it used to, also timeshift doesn't work on the nova-t either.

When entering timeshift mode the error returned is "Error: Failure playing back file".

Recordings from the nova-t create a mpg file with just a few odd frames sometimes but mostly zero length files.

Also there seems to be an issue with mapping a channel on the nova-t i think it is due to a single quote in the channel name "UKTV Br'tIdeas when I try to map this cahnnel it is not saved to the database.

I've got exactly the same problem, except I'm using a Hauppauge PVR250. I've not been able to resolve it so I eventually gave up.

I'm using the PVR250 with GB-PVR and my Nova-T with Showshifter DVB. It's a pain, but it's the only way I could make dual recordings.

With regards to channel mapping, i cannot understand it. If I try and do this in the daytime when BBC3, BBC4 & Ftn are off-air, the channel frequencies doesnt show in the mapping screen. Oddly, when I tune in during the evening the channels show up ok, but the daytime channels which have closed for the day, are not !

Have you set them both to Device 1?
Does Live Preview mode work for the Nova-t?
What MUX are you using for the Nova?

You might have just answered a question that I've been wondering about - UK Bright Ideas is the only one of the channels that I can't get to map properly and the single quote might explain it. Personally I'm not bothered about that one though - the couple of times I've seen it on my set top box it happened to be somebody attempting to do something arty with a glass bowl, candles and a few bits of twig - I've seen better table top decorations come out of a kids school. Urrrm - you've kinda explained it yourself. If a channel is off air then the current tuning mechanism can't pick it up. You need to do two separate tunings - one daytime, one night then add what gets picked up at the relevant time. Do it twice and you should have all channels.

I'm not sure if this will change in future versions - there is certainly a lot more information available on digital broadcasts than meets the eye - my set top box seems to tune all channels at any time of the day but then again it lost BBC2 and BBC4 the other day for no apparent reason. It also downloads advertising links and wedges them into the on-screen now/next channel guide - I hope GB-PVR never does that.

BBC4 & CBeebies are the same channel but but changes name for day and night, not sure about BBC3 as i cannot receive, ftn shares its channel with something else not sure what though

350 is set as capture device #1
Nova-t is device 1 but shows up as capture source #2

any other setting give nothing at all i think the device for the nova-t is only if i have multiple nova-t cards.

Live preview works, if i turn it of the 350 works but nova-t does not.

Wenvoe and another one i not sure which one it is I dont have full reception can only get MUX A,B,C,D not 1 or 2.

Yep that's fine they should both be set to #1 - I just thought I'd check you'd done it that way (I wasn't sure when I first added my Nova into the mix). Capture sources are a combination of a device and an EPG so will always have a unique number.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]Wenvoe and another one i not sure which one it is I dont have full reception can only get MUX A,B,C,D not 1 or 2.
When I asked about the MUX I should've specified MPEG multiplexer rather than transmitter MUX. In order to record and (I think) use the Nova in timeshift mode you need to use either the Cyberlink, Intervideo or ShowShifter mpeg muxes you have to have one for it to work and then specify which one you're using on the Misc. page of Config (dropdown box labelled 'BDA Multiplexer) - sub can't supply these with the installer so you need to source one of them yourself - do a search on the forums to see where to get them from - the ShowShifter one comes with a trial version of that but I can't remember where to get the other two from.

On the tuning front...you say you cant receive on MUX 1 and 2 - is this a general problem in your area or just that you can't tune them with the Nova? If it's a case of you not being able to find them with the Nova, find the 0134.INI file in the BDA\Dvb-t folder where you've installed GB-PVR. I notice that the frequencies for MUX 1 & 2 for Wenvoe are in round numbers, i.e., end 000 - try adding or subtracting 166 from them, save the INI and rescan. It might be worth a try.

Cheers,
Brian

I've compiled an exact frequency list here:
http://www.quantexzone.com/files/ss_90002.zip
Those are originally for ShowShifter but the frequencies are human-readable so just edit the frequency in the ini files for GB-PVR.

Info from here:
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static....ll.html

Some, such as Rowridge are out of date because Ofcom don't keep their transmitter list up to date. If the muxes haven't moved then all the rest are right.
