Hello,
I've been working on setting up GBPVR on my system and I'm running into problems. I have two cards, a PVR150 and a PVR150MCE. The PVR150 works perfectly, the PVR150MCE does not.
The MCE gives me a black screen when I try the TuningAssistant and when I try it in GBPVR. I tried the PVR150 with w/o the cable plugged into it and I get static. The black screen I get with the MCE is a completely black screen, not static or anything like that. I have most recently tried the MCE without the PVR150 in the system and I still just get the black screen. I have tried old drivers and newer drivers and it does not seem to matter which drivers I use, I get the same result.
I can play the videos I have recorded with the PVR150 without any problems through GBPVR and view Live TV when I have the PVR150 in the system.
I have attached my log files with just the MCE in the system. Not being able to get this to work is driving me crazy!! Thanks for any help you can provide.

The tuning assistant only ever works with the first instance of a type device. The PVR150 and PVR150MCE are both the same type of device, using the same drivers, so you'd only be able to test the first one of these with the tuning assistant. No problem though, since you dont need to the tuning assistant for using GB-PVR.

Try setting up the two PVR150 capture sources in GB-PVR, one as device #1 the other as device #2, then try doing two recordings at the concurrently. If it doesnt work, then zip and attach the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried the PVR150MCE in the system by itself earlier this evening and got the black screen too. Here's the information you requested, I set up two recordings, the first one I picked plays fine, the second shows a black screen and is a 0 byte file in my temp folder.

Thanks,
Liberty

Here's the log file as a zip and not a rar.

With just that one card in your machine, does the Hauppauge WinTV software work? and can it record?

It doesnt look like this device is in a function state. The encoder wont connect for some unknown reason.

I just tried it and WinTV doesn't find any channels when I scan for channels and it doesn't seem to do anything otherwise. It just shows a black screen.

Since I took out the working PVR150 I tried the Tuning Assistant again, it finds channels, but the display in the Tuning Assistant remains black.

Is it possible the card is bad? I thought that it might be the case before I posted, but I wanted some help from those more familiar with tuner cards before I gave up on it.

Thanks,

Yeah, definitely sounds like something funny happening with that card. I'm not really sure what exactly though.

I tried the PVR150MCE in another PC and it's working great. I installed the 2.0.48.25037 drivers from http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/support/...logue.html The card now works just fine. I don't know for sure if it was the drivers or something strange with my XP installation, but the card is working perfectly now.

Thanks again sub for your help,
Liberty
