Cleared out any programmes that might be interfering (all arcsoft programmes), and tried again, but got this error in the log;

That error message usually indicates the recording service was either not running, or some firewall software getting in the way of communication.

Do I need to open the firewall even though the server is installed on the same machine?

Usually not, but some people have been unlucky and found the firewall software they're using has required them to do this before PVRX2.exe and GBPVRRecordingService.exe can communicate.

Hmm. I added exceptions for both programmes in the Windows firewall, but no luck.

Just bumping this to see if anyone else has been able to set up the Hauppauge HD PVR?

Mine is working, only thing I was curious about from what I saw on the pictures of your setup was that you were recording SVideo instead of Component. I have no idea if or how well the driver handles Svideo setup, since when I installed it only added this to it's setup for the source...

[SETUP-Main]
AudioInput=auto
;AudioInput=Audio Line In
;AudioInput=Audio SPDIFDigital In
;AudioInput=Audio AUX In

Bitrate1080i=9000000
BitratePeak1080i=13500000
BitrateMode1080i=VBR

Bitrate720p=9000000
BitratePeak720p=13500000
BitrateMode720p=VBR

Bitrate480i=3000000
BitratePeak480i=5000000
BitrateMode480i=VBR

Is the video source just auto detected? It looks like you can specify on the audio, but I don't see anything to tell it to use Svideo instead of Component.

Other than that the only real difference on how yours is setup is that I'm using Firewire to channel change on mine. I don't actually "watch" from the PC that has GBPVR on it, I use mine strictly for recording and it does that perfectly so far (just got it setup).

While we are on the subject of the HD PVR, anyone know if it's possible in the setup file I listed to add the "development" setting of changing the GOP that you can set in graphedit? This would help seeking ability which doesn't work right currently if your reworking the files for PS3 playback.

No, there is no setting for this. Maybe in a future release though.

Thank you for the quick response. I "heard" on another forum that if you change the setting in graphedit that the HD PVR will keep it until power is cycled on the unit so that will be the method I try for the time being.

Just a small update. The ability to have the HD PVR keep settings from the "development" tab even after a power cycle is supposed to work in the new driver that add's the AC3 support.

I haven't installed it yet (since the system is working well at the moment) but this would solve that issue entirely, set it once from graphedit and then never worry about it again.
