Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, I've searched, and although a lot of people say they get a black screen when trying to watch live tv, I cannot even get that far. When I select LiveTV it doesn't do anything. I have selected a capture source (Hauppauge HDPVR) and do have the decoders installed. Is there something obvious I'm missing? I'm running gbpvr on vista32.

I did find another person who had exactly the same problem as I am having. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=37856
but the fix there did not fix my problem.

I have found another post that addressed my issue. It seems to lie with Vista. I followed the directions from this post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=37069 and now at least have a black screen to work with!

Ok,
So I've obviously figured out the setings button not working. Added the skin folder. Like a lot of people before me, I've now run into the black screen on LiveTV problem. As well when I record, I get a 0byte file. I assume these two issues are related? I've checked my decoders. The temp files exist. I've gone through hundreds of posts and still no answer. Here are my log files, if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. This is a vista install, and I've had to set the permissions in a few places, but maybe missed something? As well I have updated the drivers in the hauppauge hd-pvr to the newest (beta I think) drivers. If this is the problem, anyone know how to roll back the driver? I tried, but it didn't seem to work.

Since you're using an HD-PVR, your problem is unlikely to the majority of other posts that might be related to live tv problems. This device is used by very few people here, and works very differently to other capture devices.

I'd focus on getting recording working first on this specific device. If you're getting a 0 byte files. Maybe check you've selected the correct input in your capture source.
