I am having some issues with channel scanning on a Technotrend s2-3200. (see other posts on here) Once I have a channel list I seem to be able to tune to it perfectly well. I am very keen to get this app going, so I dont suppose anyone can supply me with a cache file for a complete channel scan of Astra 2a,2b,2d Eurobird on 28.2.

Many thanks.

I am still finding GBPVR to be very touchy scanning satellite on my Hauppage HD S2 - the above scan was one of the very few times it did not crash before completing!
The challenge is working out which of the channels in the scan is not encrypted, as there are so many duplicates. Channel four is a good example - the channel 4's found by GBPVR are the Sky encypted versions. The FTA channel 4 is found as a number - 82350 or similar - but in, say, DVBDream, the FTA channel four is found as...Channel 4!
It amazes me how the channels found varies so much from app to app, even with the same transponder list.

Thanks also for your scan list. I just get "unknown" with my Videomate s350.

I was meaning to write a conversion things for DvbViewer to gbpvr cache, but haven't sussed the intricacies of all the pids and things as yet - I just manually tweak the odd program I need.

Just in case Sub is watching I would also like to add that gbpvr finds about 1/4 of the channels that dvbviewer does pointing at Atlantic Bird 3 (5W).

Doesnt really bother me as I have learnt to edit the cahe file and most of the FTA channels I want show up in the scan.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, and for the list Pob. I come primarilly from the Linux world, this is my first time dabbling with Windoze TV stuff. I do have the scans from my mythtv system, that knows which channels are encrypted. If I can, I'll write a script to convert from that to the gbpvr cache format. assuming all of the required info is in there of course. I'll stick it on here when its done.

Sub, I can see what most of the stuff is, but is there a file definition for the cache that you can make public?

I dont have enough information to go on. It gets all the channels on my satellites, but there could easily be differences in the broadcast stream that GB-PVR isnt handling correctly. If someone is able to provide a 200MB or so full transport stream file for an example frequency and list of missing channels, or arrange for the satellite to be temporarily moved over New Zealand Big Grin, then I'm happy to look into it. I'm sure it would be pretty easy to work out if I was able to test it here.

Sub I have uploaded a full TS recording here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6C7BQYGK
I recorded a channel on transponder 10773 because BBC ONE ENGLAND AND BBC TWO ENGLAND are not found by GBPVR, even though 10773 is in the 0282 transponder list.

Thanks - but unfortunately megaupload is telling me 'download limit exceeded' for some reason.

Weird - working for me.
The Megaupload FAQ only has this:
I am not downloading/have not downloaded anything, but still get "Download limit exceeded". Why?

It is possible that someone else is already downloading from your IP or has exceeded your newly assigned IP's download quota in a previous session.

There are three ways to work around this issue:
1. You can try a different port. Some ISPs only enforce proxy use only for connections to port 80. We offer two alternate ports (800 and 1723) that you may try. This will never work if your ISP assigns private (10.*, 172.16-31.*, 192.168.*) IP addresses or uses NAT.
2. You can ask your ISP to assign you a public IP address or switch to a different ISP.
3. You can buy a premium account, which relieves you of all limitations and allows for unlimited parallel and batch downloads.

Maybe the port setting?
