I set a show to quick record
wait a little bit, then hit play on it to start it over.
I get a blue screen and no sound. No lock up though, so I can stop it.

It did record the blue screen as well. could be my same other bug where I get a blue screen instead of a recording.
Here are the logs.

If you're getting a blue screen, then its most likely the same as your other thread where one of your tuners is recording blue screens.

I assume you mean "The Big Bang Theory_20081020_19001930.mpg" which is the last file you tried to play. There is no sign of any errors recording that file. I assume "11" is the correct channel number for that channel?

actually it was sara connor chronicals. I put it back to the show I was watching.

I stopped the recording and started it again, and it recorded correctly when I went back to play it.
So maybe there is something there.

what does
Encoder instance 1 will not connect
mean in the logs?
Is this the tuner?
That is I see cannot connect for 1 then 2 then 3, will use 4.
Just seeing if it is a specific tuner. If that is what that stands for, then it seems to be 3 and 4 which I guess is the second card?

Its normal to see those messages. Its trying to identify which of the hardware encoder filters is correct for that card.

I understand it is normal, I was trying to figure out if it was a specific card or tuner doing this.
I did some more tests.
I changed the cards around.
If I understand correctly, it seemed to follow a card, but I need to know which card is 1?
Also it does not seem to happen more than once.
That is if I reboot, the first time I try to record, it gets the blue screen.
If I try after that, it doesn't happen, but I have another 13 min before I am sure of that, and that it followed a card.

Nothing in the logs shows an error.

IF it followed a card, and you can tell me which card based on which one is encoder one,( not tied to a card for real, but to a slot I think,) then I will see if I can get it replaced.
If it is tied to a reboot, then I have to say it is a bug in this build. Not sure how to fix it. But I think I can use autoit to create a work around script.

You can see which device is in use by looking at the first number in this message in the logs:

Quote:2008-10-20 18:17:27.250 VERBOSE ConexantRecorder::StartRecording(1, 1, 3, 0)

These numbers are the device#, country code, channel, and tuning type (cable/antenna).

If I pull one, will it renumber?
That is if I pull card 1, will card two renumber to card 1, or will I see the can't use 1 can't use 2 till it gets to 3?
