What version of Xrecord are you using? Jorm recently posted version 21.
I know version 20 and 21 have Transcoding. Just make sure you do not have Transcoding unselected in the Menu options in config.

I just installed 2.1. I've got all the options configured to be on right now.
GBPVR v0.94.12 - Windows MCE 2005 SP2
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe with P4 HT 2.6GHz + 1GB RAM
160GB & 250GB SATA 7200 RPM HDD's, 2 200GB ATA/133 7200 RPM HDD's
(2) WinTV PVR-150MCE's - (2) Media MVP HAU 1000's

To enable transcoding again open up the skin.xml you will see it commented out. I created a way to use system transcoding (what sub just introduced). And that is on by default.

Thanks! The "old" transcoding is now back. Now I can start figuring out what's keeping the "new" transcoding from working correctly.

I think that I prefer the "old" style better. I would set up to what I want to watch in the evening to transcode before dinner. After dinner, it would be completely trancoded and I could fast forward through the show pretty quickly.
