Hi all, just upgraded to the latest release.

It looks good, everthing works on DVB-T but as soon as I switch to a DVB-S channel the lights go out with a "PVRX2 has encountered a problem...."

It sounds similar, its interesting that you are using a Technotrend, I wonder if Sub included any new .ini files in the new release that may have overwritten my old ones.

Ahhh just spotted this post by superman40 in the 1.3.7 release thread:

Great improvement, I really like the Slick Skin

You should mention to back up the bda file also - many of us that have hdhomerun have custom bda files

I am wondering if this is my issue as I was using a custom bda before upgrading.

I get the same thing but on CNN - the rest of my sat channels seem fine. When I start live TV when it's on CNN it dies with "pvrx2.exe has encountered a problem..."blah blah - but the channel plays in the background! It's very odd though cause it doesn't seem to do it on other DVB-S channels. I've got a Skystar2 pci...

Yep same thing, the cahannel plays in the background still, I tried a couple of DVBS channels and they both did it, so I assumed they all did it but I will check later.

Were you using a custom bda.ini before you upgraded? -or am I barking up the wrong tree with this?

Nope - never touched my bda.ini file... although I'm beginning to wonder if I should! The previous version of gbpvr worked fine on CNN... I also noticed if I started the app about 4 times when it was on CNN it would eventually play nicely, but I cant convince the wife that this is a suitable approach to watching TV!! Luckily it's not a channel I watch too often, just happened that there was something happening over the water this week... Smile

Ok, so just got home and tried copying my pre-upgrade bda.ini across to my post upgrade folder but that didnt help. so that was a red herring, I will try going into config capture sources as mention in another thread to se if that fixes it.....

I have the same issue watching any HD satellite channel - but have had this issue since 1.2.13...
The only solution I have found is to disable live preview mode; for some reason if timeshift is used, I never get a crash.
