Cover art and metadata

Ive finally got around to try the metadata functionality introduced in the new version of GBPVR. Its something i really missed (had it with the VA plugin but lost it as VA does not seem to be developed anymore).

Anyway, the problem I have is that the movie poster does not change as I am browsing my movies (other xml description is changing). I am using JavaWiz tool to download the metadata, which is an excellent tool by the way. My arrangment is a genre directory (e.g., f:\my movies\comedy\) with several movies so all my metadata and coverart is in moviename.jpg and moviename.xml.

Secondly, I also would like to add a request to have additioinal data supported. Primary I am intrested in director and actors.

I think I found the problem. Here is a new version.

It has fix for null fields in db and increased logging.

Oh, thank you for this so much! Wow! One thing:

I'm organized to a fault. For example, my TV series are organized as such: /SciFi/Babylon 5/Season 1/[episode number]episode name

As such, the search doesn't work for those because it's only looking at the last directory with the episode number/name. I may or may not be the only one doing this. :-)

If not, would it be possible to have a field to add a series prefix? I could then type "Babylon 5" and it'd know to search on "series title" and try to match the episode name.

Also, I'm getting the occasional message: "Unable to locate DLL: vjslib.dll"

EDIT: The above error message seems to be happening because one of my movie titles had a hyphen "-" in the title. Once removed, it parsed perfectly.

I am looking at ways to enable users to 'override' filenames and provide their custom names for better hit results. I'll try and take your situation into account.

If you get an error message indicating : “vjslib.dll not found”, the WizWebHelper DLL function for TheTvDb.com requires the Microsoft Visual J# Version 2.0 Redistributable Package, which can be found here.
