Can't scan properly at all

Hi All,

I will make the long story short. Currently running 1.3.7
I have used GBPVR for a very short time successfully few hours months ago before the release 1.2.13. I could scan then. Since the last two release I can not scan for the life of me. If I install fresh and leave everything on default, including <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>15</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>
then 9 our of ten times it scans, but almost all channels all unknowns.
So I increase the time to 60,90,120. I get channels but then, always while scanning, at different transponders, the scan dies, config.exe closes, everything clean, I can not see anything in the log to show what could cause this. I really want to start using GBPVR. I have re-installed and scanned more times than I can count. So I give up. I am asking for help.

Some configuration:
P4 1G ram winxp sp3
twinhan 102g dvb-s
DVBDream works perfectly, it scans, it is not the card or disecq.
Even Mythtv worked for me.

I have attached the latest logs. I really belive it is something in my PC disrupting the scan, just can not figure out what.

With sub away on business, I'll simply offer a workaround suggestion: Perhaps install 1.2.9 (on the assumption that's the version you were able to scan with), scan and map your channels, then upgrade to 1.3.7.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did what you suggested, and it worked. It scanned all channels, and did not crash using the version 1.2.9, but what did not happen is the mapping of channels on the right hand side. I remember that long time ago when I did this, with the old version I had to manually go through one by one and map. I doubt everyone is doing that with 1000 of channels. With the new version even though it crashed, it always mapped on its own. Am I doing something wrong with the older version, should I be mapping the channles from left to the channels it found on the right hand side?

I'm pretty new to GB-PVR, but so far I've always had to map by hand (in both 1.2.13 and 1.3.7). If there's an automatic mapping, it's never done it for me. I'm using ATSC, so thankfully there's only 30 or so channels. I did wonder though how people with many more channels were coping with it.

When upgrading GBPVR to a new version, it will remember your previous channel mappings, which is what I'm pretty sure happened. No version of GBPVR has ever automatically mapped digital channels to the EPG. The only exception to this I believe is if you use the "DVB EPG" option as your EPG source.

It'll do the mappings automatically if the channel names in the digital stream exactly match the names in the EPG. This is pretty uncommon though, particularly in the north american part of the world. With this name match, GB-PVR has no way to know that a channel being transmitted by your broadcaster is the same as a channel included in the listings you've supplied.

In the DVB parts of the world, it'll also try matching based on the LCN (logical channel number).
