I recently decided to upgrade to 1.3.7 as a clean install of gb but I am having tuning problems when scanning channels with my hauppauge nova t 500. It appears the scan sometimes fails to change the channels and is missing channels. I have checked the signal level with the hauppauge scan utility and athough the signal level is little down, the quality is consistently at 100% on all channels.

Any suggestions as to what is causing this. I did not have this issue with the previous version.

Further checking of the config log files showed while scanning it did not send tuning commands to the card for the 1st item (1=) in the bda ini file. The log showed subsequent tuning requests for items in the list (2=, 3=...) were OK. I came up with a workaround for my particular problem by editing the bda ini file by adding an additional tuning request for the item for that was missed in the first line. This worked.

The other channel that was missing was skipped due to poor signal level as I dont have a suitable antenae for that frequency which is to be expected.

Can you give some more details, such as which files you edited and how you edited them?

I think I may be getting the same issue as the channels on my first mux are not getting found. I'll try adding a dummy first entry in the bda.ini and report back if it resolves the issue.

Cheers

I can confirm that adding a dummy mux first in the relevant .ini file then correctly scans the first real entry in the .ini file.

Caa you give some details? Which files do you edit, what do you add to that file and where do you add it? TIA

Same problem here. 1st mux comes up with no channels, but the 2nd and 3rd are fine. I'll try adding a dummy entry.

Thanks for the info

Got it here goes
how I did it for emley moor DVT transmitter in the UK.

In BGPVR/BDA/DVB-T folder there is a hugh number on number.ini files. one by one open them up and find the one that corresponds to you. In my case 079.ini and open it up (it looked like this)

[TERTYPE]
1=Borders and Northern England
2=Emley Moor
[DVB]
0=6
1=C52,722166,0,0,8
2=C40,625834,0,0,8
3=C43,649834,0,0,8
4=C46,673834,0,0,8
5=C50,705834,0,0,8
6=C49,697834,0,0,8

I then changed it to

[TERTYPE]
1=Borders and Northern England
2=Emley Moor
[DVB]
0=7
1=C52,722166,0,0,8
2=C40,625834,0,0,8
3=C43,649834,0,0,8
4=C46,673834,0,0,8
5=C50,705834,0,0,8
6=C49,697834,0,0,8
7=C52,722166,0,0,8

and bobs your uncle

Thanks so much for actually taking the trouble to explain how to implement this workaround.
