I can't see CS4 being ready in a couple of days, so there's no rush on CS_Blue.

I don't think it really matters which one, but the question makes sense Smile. Reflect Green was the default, but more because it was first in rather than anything else.

#INSTALL
All files related to the creating the installer setup.exe
eg
- NSI script
- icons, images and logos
- readme/license/contributers & acknowledgments files

#PLUGIN
All files that would go into gbpvr/plugins/SkinPlugin
eg
- plugin dll
- helper dll
- helper exes
- config dlls
- plugin images
- current theme xml file

##RESOURCES
All images, xmls and themes that will be distributed with the default install.
Other themes and images will be handled and stored seperatly due to licensing and file size considerations.

#SKIN
All XML files for the plugins and default GB-PVR screens.

##GBPVR
All files that would go into gbpvr/skin/CommunityX

###_CoreImages
All these folders will have the default theme files.

##PVRX2
All files that would go into gbpvr/skin2/CommunityX

###_CoreImages
###_TaskImages
###_SpecialImages
All these folders will have the default theme files.

(# mark folders)

I am fine with that. I was playing around with it yesterday, trying to figure it all out. I am totally new to all this as well.

Right. I am ok with changing it up some.

I hope to have any xml overhauling to be done by next weekend..Then we can bash about the main menu and meta data stuff.

Sounds sensible.

I work with source control every day so not quite so new to me Smile. I aim to have the SVN and the installer/build process ready within 2 weeks (I'm away all next week).

Thanks to McBainUK's suggestion, for the first time I now have a setup where I can view GB in 16x9 and 4x3 modes.

I think the CS would benefit from separate xml formatting for each aspect ratio, but this is a lot of work. What do people think of, now that there is a separate area for plugin xmls on the wiki, pairing down the default CS installation to cover just the basic plugins that sub's blue covers. Then adding a selection to the skin plugin to load a folder structure for each?

Alternatively we could add xmls for the basic plugins to the area on the wiki?

There are quite a bit of options to hammer out. If we get enough 16x9 skins, we can package those as a collection.

Hi guys. What's the status with CS4? I've noticed some activity on the google code project pages and SVN. What's next to do / to decide?

I have mostly tweaked the installer scripts. Did some mods to the skins to try to get the images all to be pulled from \Skin2, so copying images to the \Skin folder will no longer be required (get rid of the redundancy department of redundancy). I haven't tested all those plugins yet.

To be decided?

Do we include all plugins with main installer?
If not, do we drop obviously antique plugins (ie. Music Albums, ect) from the main installer?
Do we just include PVRX2 plugins and a few GBPVR.exe favorites (X-Record, Video Archive, MusicLibrary2).

I know in the past, users appreciated "everything just works". That would cause me to lean towards droping just the ones that are clearly obsolete.

Also up for grabs and/or work to be done,

New menu designs? (New skinning elements introduced).
Working in the new metadata features.
Whatever else I cannot think of at the moment.

Criteria for being dropped?
  • Plugin no longer available on the wiki
  • or doesn't work with the latest version of GB-PVR (and PVRX2.exe)

So we will plan on removing from the default install most, if not all, "Unsupported plugins". Have links on web page to download as needed. If it doesn't work with PVRx2 it will be dropped altogether.
