Just switched to the TS-mux for one reason or another, I have set .ts recordings to auto-convert to mpeg2 ASAP, I can see in the logs that it gets as far as

Code:
vAbout to run transcode command: C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Third Party\FFmpeg\ffmpeg.exe MPEG-2

But ffmpeg never starts, any ideas?

I thougt that dvr-ms to mpeg conversion requires a cyberlink mux to be registered. I wonder if this is also the case for .ts files.

Good question...I'd forgotton about that since switching to slick skin and loosing the buttons in video library, I'll give it a go when everyones in bed.

I also tried it on my other machine and it did the same thing but the logs reported something like FFMEG converting failed, but no clues.

I'll have a play with the manual transcode later, and also running FFMPEG from the command line on the ts files to see if it complains about something.

I know you just changed to ts but if you want mpegs, you might try the ATI mux and get mpegs directly.

I see your point, but I am enjoying the quality of the TS-MUX, plus I am now streaming to the MVP in TS which was the main reason for switching.

Although now you mention it I did find yesterday that quartz.dll had changed to to a newer one without me noticing, so perhaps the ATI is worth a second chance, I always foud the ATI mux to be good, just not as good as the TS-

mine transcodes manually but wont auto transcode
i also tried turning off comskip processing to see if that was stoppiong it but it made no difference

as for ati mux i always got failed recordings probably bad signal
went to dvr-ms it was fine for failsafe recordings
then along came multirecord so ts is the only option
but with the timeline issues comskip is always out thought maybe i could convert to mpeg but now that doesnt seem to be working automatically

Mine wont transode manually, well not from ts -> mpeg2. It happily does ts -> xvid though. I'll have a play later with the command line.

I haven't had much time to play with this recently, but my other machine (XP x64) will do a manual trascode from the video library but it too doesnt manage to do an auto trascode ASAP.

Can I ask anyone who has got auto convert from TS to mpeg2 working to make yourselves known, I would like to know if this a problem generally with gbpvr or a problem specific to some setups/users?
