Can I change the display name of a plugin in the menu?

for example: I want Movie Wizard to say "Watch a Movie" in the menu. Is there a way to do this? thanks in advance.

In the englisg language file (C:\Program files\Devnz\gbpvr\Language\language.Eng.xml) you can change (or add) any entry you want.
After you have saved the file start config and click ok to end it.
Remember to backup the file, because it will be overwritten every time you update GBPVR.

 This doesn't seem to be working for me. I opened it and changed Music Library to Audio Library, opened the config program and save through it, then opened GBPVR but I still have a Music Library instead of an Audio Library.

that should work, try renaming an "external" plugin rather than a system one and see if that works...

Maybe sub has something different happening with his plugins.

I think I kind of figured it out:
When you choose a language in config and OK out, the languagefile is kopied from the lang-dir to the gbpvr-dir and the name is changed to language.xml.
However if you choose English as language this doesn't happen, probably because it's the default (coded language). I noticed that there was no language.xml in the GBPVR-dir if I choose English for language.
I think you should make the changes in the language.enu.xml, then you choose the "Modified English" language in config. Makes kind of sense doesn't it?

If you edit the language.xml file, you do not need to go into the config.exe program. That will cause the file to be over-written by your selection. I noticed a year or so ago an issue with other English named xml files.

I'm not even sure what to do in the xml file. Does this work with plugin names? for example: i want to change "Music Library2" to "Listen to Music", am I even in the right xml for this?

I search the xml for "library2" and similar stuff but I can't find anything like that. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. thanks

Hmm, yes it doesn't seem to work as it used to. I'm sure in the gbpvr (the legacy product) we were able to change the display name of plugins, but I've just tried it with "MusicLibrary3" and "Music Library3" and neither had any effect. Although with that one is could be that I don't call for translation on the plugin name.

But calling for the translation wasn't something I remember having to do before.

if it's not too hard I would love it if plugin developers would make it standard to provide an option to change the display name of the plugin in the menu.

I use gbpvr to play video and music for patients that come into my office, and I always get questions about where they should go for music, movies, etc.

If anyone finds out how I can mod the lang file or whatever I need to do to change the names please let us know. thanks
