I used to have the GB-PVR working fine on my Windows Server 2003 platform, with Twinhan 1020A DVB-S card. Recently I blown away the Windows Server 2003, installed the Windows Server 2008. The Twinhan DVB-S card's drivers were installed fine on the server, however, I am unable to get it working in GB-PVR for scanning channels from satellite.

Whenever I tried clicking the "Map digital channels to EPG channels" in order to first scan the available channels from Optus D1, I immediately got this error:

GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use.

The device is called "Twinhan DVB-S (DVB-TV 878 Digital Tuner Driver)" and there is no other service using it.

I ran the filtercheck.exe as Sub mentioned in another post, the got the filtercheck.log. Looked at the log file, GB-PVR seems to be able to find my DVB-S card if I didn't get it wrong.

Now I don't know where to go to further troubleshoot it and get it working. I am attaching the log file here.

Thanks!

In this case its nothing to do with your card. The problem is occurring because some normally present Windows component does not seem to be on your machine. Sorry, I'm not sure what you'd do to correct this.

Never mind, I am running the GB-PVR on an unsupported platform. Appreciate your help anyway.
I will come back if I figure out how to get it working.Smile

Server 2008 doesn't come with BDA. There's a way to hack it we discovered a while ago using Vista files, but it's at your own risk Smile
