I may have found another fix . . . I'm just wandering in the dark here, but I found if you click on the square next to the codec name in the config program that on some you will get options. On the MPV decoder I got some and I played with the deinterlace options . . . "Bob" seems to make it work MUCH better!

No idea what I'm doing, but I seem to have Forrest Gumped my way into making some progress!

You can add its name to the <SupportedDVDDecoders> setting in config.xml.

That worked, but I lost the little bullet that moves up and down to indicate which menu selection you are on. The selections do move as if I press it down and press play I get the second title, but the little bullet that showed which one I was on is now missing. It does show up in Vista Media Player.

No matter, I'm tired and my eyes are tired tonight, but I think the MPV decoder with the Bob deinterlace setting works just as well and the bullets do work with it.

I personally just rip to directories (VOB files etc). One less thing needed on my machine....

You can put them anywhere you like, but it needs to be a directory you can browse to in the Video Library. Select the ISO file in the video library and it'll ask daemon tools to map the ISO, then will start playback.

When you playback ripped DVD movies in GB-PVR you get the normal menus and chapters etc.

I'm using v 1.3.7, and it's not playing the dvd file. It hangs for a minute and then starts playing, but there's no picture or sound. Also, it won't play an Xvid avi file. Do I have to install a decoder?

No, but it's an old version - 9.something. VLC plays it fine.

9.something should play xvid files fine if you've got the appropriate directshow decoders installed. GB-PVR will also need those decoders to be installed to be able to play it. There is lots of xvid decoders that would fix it, like http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/

No, but it'll probably be similar - ie, the decoders you're using (dont leave them set to 'system default').

In regards to putting DVDs as ISO or individual VOBs, when you select them from the video library, does daemon tools get loaded when they are VOBs?

I know it is being use when the DVDs are ISOs. Thanks

No, it only uses daemon tools for .iso images.
