I have seen this particular problem a few times now. A scheduled program starts to be recorded and I try to start watching it from the Pending Recordings screen about 15 minutes into the program. When I select Play GBPVR hangs for about 30 seconds before I can move around the menus again. If I leave the recording to finish I end up with an empty (zero byte) .ts file so it appears as though the recording is lost.

This happened last night while recording Heroes on TV3 at 8:30pm. I have attached the log files. I did notice this Unexpected Error in the pvrx2.log when trying to playback the file.

Code:
2008-11-26 20:43:31.090    VERBOSE    [1]    About to play file: D:\Recordings\Heroes\Heroes_20081126_20302130.ts

Bump - This happened again last night trying to record House. Is anybody else seeing this symptom? i.e. recording ends up being zero bytes

What capture device do you have?

Do you have multi-record enabled, and was there any other recordings happening at the same time?

I saw something like this - there were actually 2 recordings in my TVRecordings folder, one correct size, one zero bytes. And to top it off, it seems the database pointed to the zero byte file for the recording! I just copied the good file to the Videos folder to watch. Would be nice if Sub could add a built in routine to add videos to the built-in database.

I'm using an HVR-2200 and multirecord is enabled.

Last night Coronation Street (TV1 7:30pm-8:30pm) would have been ending as House (TV3 8:30pm-9:30pm) was starting.

It might worth running with multi-record disabled for a bit to see if the problem persists.

Ok will do and will let you know if it resolves the problem. I'll miss the multi-record feature tho....its a really great feature Smile

Thanks

How many channels do you have in the .x range? Only one in clearQAM in Houston.

I think we use different broadcasting standards in New Zealand.

An easier way for the future might be to add the recordings directory to the video library.
I think the bug has been mentioned a few times on the forum where the recording logic realises that the file is zero bytes and restarts it - but the db still points to the original file.
