Sorry guys..
GB-PVR doesn't do all it's work on it's own. When you want to transcode, it calls a transcoder. By default GB-PVR uses ffmpeg. It's a commandline tool, and the settings for the commandlines, (and their variations) are stored in the config.xml
This thread started with ideas on tweaking the commandline to get transcoding with ffmpeg working correctly
By Default GB-PVR 'calls' ffmpeg to do it's work...
When ZProcess is used, GB-PVR calls ZProcess, which does some things and then calls either ffmpeg, mencoder (an alternate transcoder), or VLC, (another alternate transcoder) to do it's work.
It's a go between, that dots some 'i's and crosses some 't's....
Anyway, while working on this, I discovered that ffmpeg doesn't work on a variety of TS file types, and I think that that is the problem that you have all had.
I have had better success with MEncoder and the best success with VLC. You could actually mosify the command line in the config.xml to use MEncoder or VLC, without using the go-between ZProcess. But that's a different story...
I understand that many people have not bitten into ZProcess, because they don't understand how it works or why they might want it. It has been my endeavour to make it as seamless and automated, so that you don't need to know (But I'm always happy to explain)
