Hello all,

Hopefully someone can help. I just bought my first tv capture card - a Hauppage HVR-3000, and finally managed to get WinTV installed (bizarrely the CD that come with it didn't have it). Anyway, I know that the card works because I can see stations there.

In gbpvr I drop out to the main menu. Taking a look at the logs this seems to be the problem, but I've not got a scooby what that means!

Code:
2008-12-15 21:17:04.968    VERBOSE    m_pD3DDev->Present() failed
Error code : 80004005
E_FAIL
An undetermined error occurred

2008-12-15 21:17:04.968    VERBOSE    DirectShowPlayerBase::stop

I'm attaching the zipped logs, and any help would be VERY much appreaciated.

Thanks.

What channel you trying to watch?? looks like analog to me...

And if not, I can't see that tuning request.

try tuning the dvb-s tuner or the dvb-t. But for the dvb-t you'll need the x264 codec (normally found in power cinema or power dvd) and the monogram aac codec.

It is Analog yes. I can't for the life of me see how to tune the channels with config. I used the tuningassistant.exe and copied the channel numbers from there manually.

Did I miss a step somewhere?

yeah, you'll have to kill that capture source and create a digital one.

Do you have a sky dish and no sky?? This is the easiest, the dvb-t stuff is a bit more difficult.

Run filtercheck.exe and post the resulting filtercheck.log. It seems to not be finding your encoder filter.

No sky dish, just the good old antenna on the roof. I tried dvb-t but after the scan I don't get video and also it doesn't seem to find any tvnz which is a bit strange. The video probably means I'm missing the codec, so I'll try to track down the x264 which you mentioned before, but the missing tvnz any ideas?

if trying to use analog you have to use the mce softencoder as the hvr3000 doesnt have a hardware encoder which is required for gbpvr to record analong tv
you may be able to use live preview (i cant remember exactly)
best you get a sky dish or use dvb-t or buy a pvr150

using 1.3.7 gbpvr?? there was a patch actually....

http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=7

Video codec I'd look at the powerdvd trial - version 8

Monogram codec - http://blog.monogram.sk/janos/2008/04/20...oder-0950/ (sound)

Log attached here. I'm not sure what I'm looking at though. Smile
