Is this card compatible? In terms of functionality it is similar to the PVR250 and is Conexant Blackbird based....can I trick GBPVR into thinking its a 250 or should I just cope with the name brand and go hauppuage?

Sub--
1. Can you also confirm that the TV tuner card supplied in many models of HP Pavilion media center desktop machines--which appear in Control Panel's Device Manager applet as "Conexant 2388x Tuner (Philips 1236 MK3)" "Conexant 23880 Video Capture (Balckbird NTSC Dual-Input)" "Conexant 2388x Crossbar Dual Input" --are also not compatible with GV-PVR? 2. From where can one download earlier versions of GV-PVR software, such as v99.05? Thank you kindly for your help and work. -Kevin Honolulu, HI

This is a very old thread you've replied to. Blackbird cards, if this is one, generally work with GB-PVR now.
klye Wrote:Sub--To be honest, I'm not sure. I dont have one of these specific devices. If its based on the blackbird design (mpeg2 encoder etc), and works in MCE, then it should also work in GB-PVR but may require tweaks to the direct.ini file if it doesnt match one of the existings card definitions. Is it compatible now?

I have long since purchased a Hauppague HVR-1600 card; the Blackbird now resides in my box of old parts, perhaps some day to be resurrected. Thanks.
