To answer Elmo, I have been trying to play to MVP from file, but I did just now try live TV and it crashed the MVP and produced an error in the execution of trans2MVP.exe (log enclosed).

Sorry, 'newbie' (with a join date of Aug 2006 - Good job lasting without posting!!!)

I know that the files are huge, so I say 'can make available' because maybe it's difficult. Typically, we might exchange private messages, where I would have access to a web server you have uploaded a large file. If it's less than 10 Megs, (which this won't be a case) we could use Hotmail...

I'm quite jealous of our neighbours to the south (canadian spelled 'neighbours' on purpose) and how you guys get your locals in ATSC (at least for city centres)

If you can get a short 15 min program, that would be awesome. If not that's OK...

You should be able to get OTA ATSC in Calgary.

Zehd, I tried using your ZProcess2 to convert a dvr-ms to an mpeg. Seemed to convert fine and would play in Windows Media player. However, MVP choked hard.

Am I barking up the wrong tree going this way?

The stations have their licenses, but they aren't broadcasting yet. I had a link for an official list from CRTC, I think, that was pretty on top of what will be and what is. I looked at GTO and man, they have a whack...

I just read tonight that Global, CTV and CBC (I think CITY and ACCESS too) are going to start broadcasting in late 09. That give me enough time to soup up my PVR...

Of course, I'll bet the shows I want won't be carried by the Canadian stations...

I don't doubt that you had some trouble. Did you get the altrenate ffmpeg and install it as in the wiki?

The reason I don't doubt it is, I wrote ZProcess2 and *I* have a hard time setting up transcoding for dvr-ms.

I believe ts is the way to go. And I'm close, really close...

Just a teaser.... In the next couple of days, I will be releasing a version of ZProcess that will do the dvr-ms and ts files, quite easily

Still having some trouble with mkv, but that might be me trying to work my machine too hard...

Sorry I was going by the Silicon Dust site, but it was showing the wrong ATSC channels with Calgary postal codes.

Still no auto transcode of TS to MPG

Does any one know why the command line says "About to run transcode command: C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Third Party\FFmpeg\ffmpeg.exe MPEG-2" and not the name and location of the TS file?

GB-PVR calls Trans2MVP.exe to transcode on the fly for the MVP. I don't think it's been working right for a while, at least not for me. So to get ZProcess involved, I wrote a replacement Trans2MVP.exe. Basically update from the folloing thread and copy the provided Trans2MVP.exe (it's a replacement) into the GBPVR folder

I'm still confused about the "processing" page in gbpvr/config. There are "Auto-Convert" options for TS to MPEG (for example). When this option is selected, is it supposed to be invoked upon completion of recording or is this just related to what happens when a person hits the Transcode button under the video library? And can I assume that it would not apply to Live TV? I have made several TS recordings but have yet to see anything in the logs that would suggest that GBPVR is even attempting to convert. I am trying out Zehd's changes to Zprocess (so far unsuccessfully) but I'm confused about when I would want to use GBPVR's features versus Zprocess. This may be obvious to some (or most) but the Wiki isn't clear and checking the forum has gotten me even more confused.
