Hi,

I noticed the other night that a recording stopped prematurely.
Looking at the logs, it appears to be caused by another recording on the same tuner. I have a dual DVB-T tuner. When it stopped normally, it appears to cause the other recording to stop abnormally!

Normal recording: Johnny Cash (TG4) stops at 21:40
Abnormal recording: Ocean's Twelve (TV3) Starts at 21:00 - FIle is only 40mins in duration. Last update on file is listed as 23:35...however obviously no stream data was added after 21:40.

Is this a known fault? I am using version 1.2.13.

Unfortuately this is a common problem with the Nova-T 500. Sad (There are previous threads on this subject).

Mine's been quite for a while but with many overlapping recordings over the Christmas period I've had about a third truncate when a recording on the other tuner stops.

The symptons seem to be when both tuners are recording, stopping a recording on one causes the data stream on the other to stop as well although the file remains open and the logs show it finished recording at the correct time. Doing something like a signal strength test on the tuner that isn't recording causes the data stream on the stalled tuner to start again.

This problem happens with GBPVR but doesn't seem to manifest itself with Hauppauge's WinTV software. There must be some difference in the way that GBPVR controls the tuners.

This has got so bad for me now (EXTREME grief from the WAF :eekSmile that I'm considering dumping the Nova-T 500 and trying something else.

(That is unless SUB can suggest or help with a fix?)

I can't say I've had this problem. Coming out of standby/hibernate yes, but not the problem you mention. Driver version here is 4.3.25080.

Good to see that I am not alone with this one.

Martin123: I am using the same driver version.

It is not that often that two good programs are on at the same time, so I might disable the second tuner for the moment.

Cheers for the info.

No you're not alone. Doesn't happen every time so it's difficult to pin down exactly what causes it. My WAF does a lot of overlapping recordings so the likelyhood of it occurring is high. I suspect other people with this board may not record as much so don't really see the problem. (or perhaps they have a different setup?)

Same driver version for me.
