Am I correct in understanding that if something is released under the GPL license, we can include modified versions of it in this project since it is also GPL?

I believe anything that is derived from GPL needs to be GPL.

I was thinking that this project was GPL. I went back and read the first page though. Smile

I was wondering why most of the plugins here are released without source? I like where this effort is going but having complete access to others' code would serve the complementary purpose of reducing the developer learning curve.

ill probably make the 'videos' plugin i'm working on as opensource, and commit the code to the project.

i just want to get it stable enough in my own environment before i release it in any way

oh and most of the controls/helpers im using for the videos plugin have been committed to this opensource project

reven, can you update the GBPVRUtilityLibrary project file and commit ShellIconLoader.cs? The project file is currently looking for that and OpticalDrive.cs in the "ComputerSystem" folder instead of the "System" folder where OpticalDrive.cs is actually located. ShellIconLoader.cs is missing.

Also, I noticed that you are including the API keys for theTVDb and theMovieDB in the project. I'm adding a Netflix API interface but I don't want to include the key because there are currently limits on API calls. For instance, each API key can only request the entire catalog 20 times per day, while this might be fine initially (since I'm probably going to be the only one using it for a while), it may cause problems later, especially if non GBPVR plugin developers start using it. I figure it's best to let developers supply their own key in this case.

weird, ShellIconLoader.cs wasn't showing up when i went to "Add" via the context menu for SVN. and when i manually went to the file and clicked "Add" when i went to commit the file wasnt there.

i think i screwed it by renaming System to ComputerSystem inside visual studio and not via SVN (i did this because of the conflicting namespace in .net with their System).

but everything should be there now

Awesome, thanks. I'll have some additions over the next few days.
