My Technotrend S2-3200 DVB-S2 card seems to work pretty well when playing channels in GBPVR. However it seems to be completely incapable of performing a channel scan of Astra 28.2e. It has always crashed the config program with a windows message box saying GBPVR configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. It closes and leaves a 0 length cache file.

I have been getting by with a cache file kindly provided on here, but it's out of date now. I'm sure someone would provide me with a new one, but I would prefer to be able to generate one myself.

Is the cache file in a format that is used by another utility? Is there any way of running a command line version of the scan command I can try? The Technotrend scan utility finds all of the channels, so I know the hardware and drivers are OK, but I can't use the data.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Do a scan, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Do you have any of the checkboxes ticked in the "Config -> Capture Source setting -> Digital Capture Plugin settings -> advanced BDA settings"?

Untick both of those and try again.

Whenever I have the ignore errors option ticked in the advanced bda settings that sub is mentioning, I always get the exception error during the scan. But without it I've found that i am missing channels. So i usually run 1 scan with it off and then run another with only the missing channels i need and turn it on and then just stick both together.

Yep, I dont think people should use these options.

In 1.3.11? There was a fix in 1.3.11 which should have resolved some missing channel issues with previous releases, removing the need for those 'ignore crc' checkboxes.

Yes in 1.3.11 it will not see Sky Movies Classics or Sky Movies Indie for example unless I have the checkbox ticked and I can only view these channels when it is ticked to ignore errors always. It scans all the other movie channels that are on the same transponder no problem

If you can provide a one minute 'full ts' recording of a channel on this frequency, I'll run it up in the debugger here to find why you need to tick that checkbox.

Sorry, I should have added that I have tried all permutations of these tick boxes and the result is exactly the same - a crash with an empty cache file.

Actually, just noticed my sig was out of date - correct now.
