in the [PVRX2] section remove any reference to GRNPOWER (I think)
then, you can use the green button to a) launch pvrx2.exe if it is not running and b) it will give focus to pvrx2.exe if it is running but doesn;t have focus.
btw: one of the common reasons for loosing focus is when you install the divx bundle that includes a toolbar app that runs and steals focus when you watch a divx/xvid movie. no idea if this is relates to your problems.

Actually the reason I lose focus is that my wife uses the machine to browse and forget to return focus to PVRX2. As a result, I need a solution that works regardless of focus.
gEd claims his solution will return focus if it's already running. I'll have to try this. The default hauppauge irremote.ini I got had the menu ("i" key) perform alt-tab so you can then choose pvrx2 with the left and right arrows then "Ok".

ir.exe only directs its commands to the current application that has focus (else how does it know what progam to sent the keystock to?)
my trick above should bring the running pvrx2.exe back into focus.
