Can't get Channel Mapper to work with Avermedia Hybrid Volar Max QAM

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I am trying to set up GBPVR v1.3.11 to work with my Avermedia Hybrid Volar Max (H826) using QAM.

I can add the device under Capture Sources; the config program can detect and correctly identifies the USB tuner stick that I have, giving me the option to choose ATSC or QAM. I chose QAM.

But when I go to scan my channels, nothing comes up. When I look at the USB tuner stick, the blue activity led doesn't turn on.

After allowing the channel mapper to scan for a while with no channels detected, the config program crashes and exits.

I am running windows xp SP3 on an AMD X2 4200+ with 2GB of PC3200 Ram.

I'm updating this post from work right now, so i'll zip and upload my log files when I get home.

What version of Windows are you running on?

Its failing to hook up the 'BDA MPEG2 Transport Information Filter', so never manages to start the device. Unfortunately I couldnt tell your why or how to correct it.

You can try reinstalling your BDA components. To do this, double click C:\Windows\System32\bda.inf

Hi, Volar Max works fine with gpbvr for me. I don't know if you have the latest driver.

The crash during a channel scan is a generic issue with v1.3.11 and is not related to Volar Max only I believe. I tried doing channel scan with HVR-1600 and Config crashed also. Suggest do a channel scan on a fresh PC restart. Leave the scan alone until it finishes and don't switch to work with other apps while scan is in progress. Config might still crash but at least in my case it did grab all the channels (for both HVR-1600 and Volar Max).

Thanks sub, whurlston and ak1i for helping out! I reinstalled my bda.inf files, and the channel scan was able to find a bunch of qam channels without crashing. Now my problem is I can't preview the channels in the digital channel mapping section, so I have no idea which channels to map to the channels found in the epg. Any suggestions?
