Another development and some good (if confusing) news.

I replaced Externalrecorder with Graphrecorder on the HTPC running 1.3.7. Although only Externalrecorder works on my laptop, only Graphrecorder works on the HTPC. It seems to be invoking recordings as intended.

HOWEVER, I cannot cancel a recording in progress. The "Stop Recording" executable does not invoke when I cancel from the guide or from the "Pending Recordings" list.

What is particularly confusing is the PVRx2 does not even seem to register the request to cancel the recording. The entry "stays red" in the guide, and does not disappear from the pending list after the cancel command is issued.

The logs are in the gbpvr/logs directory, zip them all and post after trying a few recordings.

Oh, sorry; I knew that there were logs there. What I meant was that I couldn't tell which ones relate to Graphrecorder. Does it matter or shall I send all?

It turns out that even recordings from my tuner do not always stop anymore. This seems to occur when a GraphRecorder-based recording is set at the same time. I have left the Device ID as 6, while my tuner's Device ID is 1. That should keep them independent of one another, shouldn't it?

Could you also help me with the name and location of the file that GBPVR expects for viewing/timeshifting Live TV through its internal player? I can't seem to find this information anywhere.

Just zip them all but most related are recording service logs. I won't be able to look until at least next Wed,

Hi,

I will not bother you with the logs, because it now appears that my problem is caused by a bug in GBPVR described here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post318578

I am trying to update to version 1.3.11 which apparently fixes it, but the installation program is "rolling back" changes on each attempt (because nothing ever, ever goes right).

I am now 99% certain that GraphRecorder is not causing this problem, and is doing exactly as I ask. Thanks for your time, Carpe.

Does anyone know the name and location of the MPG file that GBPVR expects when viewing/timeshifting live TV through its internal player?

The name of the file depends on the show you are watching - its the title followed by a time stamp. Location depends on if its recording or timeshifted - usually your recordings or live TV buffer dir - look in the config under directories

sub Wrote:I've just doubled checked this. It correctly starts the SBS recording at 7:00:00 in the logs. A few seconds later it starts the GraphRecorder recording. After that, zero messages coming out of the recording management thread other than GraphRecorder messages. It makes me think control was never returned to GB-PVR, so there is no chance for GB-PVR to tell the SBS recording to 'stop'.

OK. Very interesting theory. I will pass this long to Carpe to see what he has to say. Carpe, I know this is a busy time, but when you have a few minutes could you please check the last few entries of this thread: http://forums.gbpvr.com/newreply.php?do=...y&p=319533

The quick summary is that simultaneous recordings are SOMETIMES not ending until I restart the recording service. I have only one tuner, so these have always involved Graphrecorder, which may be the culprit.

The logs to which Sub refers are attached.

I have been using this plugin without problems for some time now. However, I have just strated encountering problems. When PVRX2 starts and I go into Live TV, no problem. If I return to the main menu and select Live TV again it has stopped working. I get a black screen for a second or two, then it returns to the main menu. I believe ths is the relevant part of the logs:
