I've just created an HTPC (therefore a newbie) as spec'd below.

Have just my Sky STB feeding into the HVR and am trying to get a stable situation going so I can branch out from there.

Net radio, Video, Live TV all set up OK, but when I make a recording it disappears (goes to 0 bytes) once it stops recording!

I watched the last one grow to over 280 Mb, made an in-stream copy to another folder, and watched the recording disappear once it finished (these are .mpg by the way).

Thought maybe I have a mux problem, but the copy I made plays fine in WMP and over MediaMVP.

Looked for Transcode logs (which shouldn't have fired anyway) but none found.

The attahed logs may help a knowledgeable person, and my mux check showed only Cyberlink muxes.

Any help is appreciated.

PS. Last week I did a test run with 1.3.7 and recording seemed to work a treat. Should I drop back a rev?

Do you have a PostProcessing.bat file? If so, whats in it?

Do you have it set to convert recordings to some other format?

Cheers, sub!

PostProcessing.bat says

@echo off
REM *** You MUST edit this statement. Delete the 'REM' from the front of the line you want
"C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Third Party\FFmpeg\ffmpeg" %1 comskip comclean auto
REM "C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Third Party\FFmpeg\ffmpeg" "%~f1" add2q
REM Visit: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/ZProcess for more information

I have "No conversion" for MPG; "MPEG-2" for DRV-MS and TS.

Is that what you meant?

Try temporarily removing this PostProcessing.bat file you've got to see if the problem goes away.

I'm testing that now.

Tried a manual execution of the postprocessing and got this:

C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR>postprocessing.bat TV1_20090127153000.mpg >pp.log

Didn't zero out the file though.

Quote:"MPEG-2" for DRV-MS and TS.
Also try setting that to 'no conversion'

Commenting out the postprocessing seems to resolve the issue, except now I need to figure out what processing whacked the file.

I'll try setting the other 2 to no conversion and see what happens.

OK, my bad! I overlooked the requirement to download Comskip from another site. Did that, reworked the postprocess.bat and all seems right in Camelot!

I'm sure I'll have other dumb issues in the future, but thanks for taking it seriously!
