ML2 version 8 bugs

I installed version 2.8 today. I found two bugs that I already reported for ML3, so I guess they are in the backend. (See hyperlink in my signature for full report of my testing. For your convenience I reproduce the errors here)

Random play with All/All selected (ML2 version 8.0.5.21941)
- Something funny happens to the end of the playlist. If the last track is reached, it is skipped and a new list is generated and displayed. This track nicely plays till the end, and then the following is displayed. However the sound has gone. It seems that ML3 hangs at that point. After a while the server starts hibernating.
Queue (Yellow button) (ML2 version 8.0.5.21941)
- If one or more tracks are added to an existing(playing) queue, the whole queue restarts playing from the beginning.

Nobody else having these problems? I am encountering a lot more instabilities with this version, but I am hesitant to report before others confirm these two behaviours.

Bugger I thought I'd fixed that Queue problem - I remember seeing it on mine one night.

I'll try to look into that random problem as well, and Pieter I'll try to get the Media Display Screen built.

Don't know if it makes sense to still report bugs here.

(1) I am also experiencing the queue problem - but on the MVP only: If a add songs to the queue using the yellow button, the queue restarts from the beginning. On the server, ctrl-y works as intented, adding songs but not restarting. This is with ML2 v8.5.21941.
(2) If I go back to the main menu and try to stop the current song, pvrx2 freezes (MVP only).

I will probably roll back to 7.2

ML2 has been my favorite plugin (in fact my only "third party" plugin). While I have great respect for the reasons, I find it quite sad that this marvellous piece of work might go down the route of some of the other plugins...

PZ1 has given it a quick test and reported some of the queuing problems have been resolved somewhat. It may still need some more work. But hopefully it should be better.

I haven't yet posted an ML2 to match this backend code - but can if needed.

Here is what the different DLLs do:
MusicLibrary2.dll is a plugin - it handles all the UI functions and direct communication to GBPVR/PVRx2. This should be stored in Plugins\MusicLibrary2
MusicLibrary3.dll is a plugin - it handles all the UI functions and direct communication to PVRx2 - This should be stored in Plugins\MusicLibrary3

MusicLibraryCommon.dll is all of my musiclibrary code - it has all the DB related functions This can be stored in This should be stored in Plugins\MusicLibraryx (if only using one of the musiclibrary plugins) or This should be stored in Plugins\Common if using both ML2 and ML3.
Interfaces.dll is used by MusicLibraryCommon and the Plugins to read Tag information from files. - This can be stored in This should be stored in Plugins\MusicLibraryx (if only using one of the musiclibrary plugins) or This should be stored in Plugins\Common if using both ML2 and ML3

Tag-lib-sharp.dll is an external tag reader
ultraid3lilb.dll is an external (MP3 only) tag reader.
Interop.wmp.dll - shouldn't really be included as it's in the base gbpvr directory - this is the Windows Media player DLL.

I tried the version from the wiki (file version is 8.0.6.27669, contrary to 8.0.7 in the link)

A) I have tested with ML2 as the front end. There is no change in behaviour:

• Queueing from the MVP results in restart of the queue
  
• The playlist doesn't update (green button) unless I move the cursor.
  

B) With ML3

• The immediate crash on "All" is gone. However, the screen goes blank for a while. Pressing a key during the blank results in PVRX2 crashing, but I couldn't reproduce that. Also happened on the MVP.
  
• Queueing bug is still present when queueing on the MVP (restart), but not on the server - same as for ML2
  
• When using the "small menu" (Menu button/Home), back/exit goes to the main pvrx2 menu, not ML3
  
• The only missing functionality from my point of view is "collections" on the "small menu"

I wouldn't have expected change in ML2 since some of the queueing issues are direct communication to gbpvr/pvrx2, this is all done fro the plugin dll, and the ML3 you just downloaded is only ML3 no included ML2.
