It would be nice to have file naming in the format of [show title-01x01-episode title.mpg].
GB-PVR (usually newest version) (Love it! Direct access to 45-button Hauppauge remote not working)

Check out the RenameRecording utility. It does this well.

It does?
I can get show title and episode name, but not episode number.
Windows alphabeticizes everything, so if a show is episode 2, and it's name begins with x, it comes AFTER episode 3, 4, and 5, whose names all begin with a, b, and c.

Actually, the only way to get the episode number is to scrape something from TV Tomb or another website. The source for the program is available so it could be done. I believe Reven, Jeff, or Jorm might have code that can be used to get this information.

It doesn't have to get the episode number from outside the program even.
If it just numbered them in the order that they're recorded, so the filename would be something like this:
01.Xmyshowname.mpg
02.Amyshowsothername.mpg
03.Bmynextshowname.mpg
This way, they would stay in the order recorded, regardless of the show's name, which is usually the episode order.

tv tome doesnt really allow for season x episode number (it possible, but not easy), its easier to get the episode number itself, eg 22 episodes in a season, 2x01 = episode 23.
