Sorry, I havnt been able to try it here yet. Been really busy the last few days. I have downloaded the file though, and confirm it had all the channels.

Another update. I did a complete reinstall of GBPVR. I made no changes to the default config. I added a single tuner (HDHR), scanned for channels (it crashed but not until after finding all channels). I was able to preview CBS-HD but it still created 0-sized files when recording. Logs are attached if needed. Since it's a brand new install, they should be smaller and more specific. I tried 3 recordings, the CBS-HD was the third one.

Your signal strength is really low for QAM. It's bordering on 70% and I've it should be around 90%. This could be the cause of your problems.

Unfortunately it seemed to be working here for me, and recordings of CBS-HD were certainly non-zero. This makes me this it must be somehow HDHR or signal related.

All my qam stations come in at 68-70 including the other two in the logs which recorded flawlessly. I'm also able to preview CBS-HD. I left it up for about 10 minutes have I saw no audio or video dropouts. Other than the CBS-HD issues, I'm very happy with QAM recording. Were you able to try the 20081231 HDHR firmware?

I'm actually having a similar problem with my local HD CBS station.
I can view the station in the Config app when I am mapping the digital channels but if I try to watch it from PVRX2 live or get the recordng service to record it, it fails. I'm a bit confused about the analysis above. If stattik can preview the station, that implies that the signal is valid in that mode. And if the Full TS mux can capture a valid file from which the the channel can then be successfully extracted, that would seem to indiate the the problem is something incompatible with the TS Mux perhaps caused by the low signal level or other channel issue. Attached are logs of my viewing KEYEDT (my CBS HD channel) in the config app, recording the channel using the Full TS mux, and attempting to record it using the TS Mux. I am using an HDHR with firmware version 20081231. The Full TS recording of the channel can be found here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F63XSW0O In my case, the signal level is around 98%.

Its a bit suspicious you guys are both HDHR users.
There is only one thing done differently for the HDHR from what every other device does, and that is PID filtering. It might be worth setting the application type to 'Mediaportal' for the tuner setup, so that pid filtering isnt done by default.

I changed the configuration of both tuners to MediaPortal and restarted the recording service but it did not change the behavior.
Would PID filtering be different when using the Preview window of the digital channel mapping panel in the config app? The video works from, from what I can tell, in that scenario. |
