downloaded and still the same, does the channels found relate to whats in the epg.

i.e does the epg need to know about the channel and then scan for the channel?

or anything else to try?

ok this will mess with your minds.

The NOVA-T usb was plugged into the USB2 ports directly in the back of the pc and wouldnt pick the channels up.

Plugged into a USB hub and it found them first time!!!! - weird

power? on-board ports insufficiently powered, more power from USB hub (presuming that it is in fact a powered hub?).

If you're electrically competent to do so, you might try measuring the voltage at the onboard ports (the outer most contacts in the usb port), versus on the hub. Please don't do it unless you know what you're doing though, you can short out your usb power power or even kill the port itself (most usb ports have over-current protection, but still....)

This all suddenly makes me wonder about my system - there's a couple of channels that my USB tuner can't receive, yet my PCIe hauppauge tunes them fine. I may have to try sub's new patch and a powered hub.

I did a rescan the other day to pick up Dave+1, but didn't find it - so I installed the patch in this thread and got it no problem.

It might indeed be a problem with USB power levels as suggested by johnsonx42, but it's just as likely that you've somehow improved the quality of your signal by moving the tuner (loose connection or suchlike).

Hi, I downloaded the latest patch but this time Config quit soon after channel scan on QAM channels started (sometimes almost immediately). At times it managed to scan in a few channels and it'd just quit.

I reverted PsiParser.ax to the orignal copy from v1.3.11 and Config no longer quit on channel scan.

I am running with XP SP3.

I'm seeing the same issue where the Config quits during QAM channel scan initialization. I posted in the thread I started (w/ files attaches).
