I have been using ver 1.3.7 for a while with my Nova-t 500 dual DVB-T tuner card with great sucess
I got a Hauppauge NOVA HD S2 card to try with the UK freesat service , just got dish fitted yesterday.

I am having some serious problems with the new card , namely channel scans can crash config.exe
And if I use a scan cache from some of the posts here I can tune to the channel fine when
mapping digital channels to epg screen ( small window preview ) , but if I run up pvrx2 and
select that channel the pvrx2 crashes within about 6 seconds ( the picture/sound is fine for those 6 seconds)

I have tried using the card with progdvb6 and it works fine , I have tried several versions of drivers.
I have also tried the newer version of gb pvr 1.3.11 and I have the same problem.
I am just trying to tune to normal SD channels that are not encrypted , aint even got to trying HD yet.

Has anyone else got freesat working with a Nova HD S2 card ?

I spent ages at it today to no avail , sub can you help me out please.

Some logs attached.

Try the current 1.3.11, with all the patches from the survival guide thread, then post the logs if there is still a problem and I'll try to help you through it.

Keep your spirits up... I have Nova HD S2 working well with Freesat including HD using 1.3.11 and all patches. (apart from the damned wind moving my dish today and I haven't got it back in completely the right place yet!)

I had exactly the same issues as the OP when I got a Nova HD S2, and a replacement card made no difference. What did work for me is described here:
http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=15
Since appying the patch detailed, I have not had a single crash watching SD or HD broadcasts. Note that, for Mediaportal at least, the patch is considered essential, at least for those with multiple tuners...but it also seems to be only a small number that actually need it!
Worth a try anyway!

Ok , tried latest version 1.3.11 = still no working DVB-S ( but DVB-T card still fine)
tried patches = neither DVB-T or DVB-S card working , get a couple secs then prog quits without error message.

Pob , thanks dude , followed your linky ( had to install WMP11 from ms updates mind u ) and used the patched files
Its is working now :-) , just doing some test recordings to ensure all is well

Thanks a lot everyone for your help
