newbie question about setting up recording source

Hi

I currently have GB PVR set up to record from TV through my Hauppage 150 MCE card.

I have an antenna that connects to my card and have set up my recording source as 'analog recording plugin' in the GBPVR config screen and have the channels tuned in.

I also have a sky receiver decoder that I want to record from that has RCA output at the back (1 video, 2 audio out).

I want to connect that to my PC so I can record from sky, however this is what I need help with. What do I set the recording source to? do I select digital recording plugin knowing that there is no digital signal on my sky decoder?

Its also worth mentioning that my card has only 1 tuner but I only want to record 1 show at a time so thats not a problem.

You need to setup two capture sources for the device. One using the the antenna, one using the composite or svideo input.

The app will know they're the same device and only allowed one to be accessed at a time.

Ok So this is what I will do, keep my current capture source and add a new one

what do I select from the drop down that says recording source? do I choose analog recording plugin or analog highdef or digital recording plugin? Also do I need to tune the channel since its only 1 channel coming from sky?

Yes.

You choose the analog recording plugin, exactly the same as your existing capture source (still also device #1). This time though, set the input source to 'composite' or 'svideo'. This setting is on the bottom of the screen where you selected your card type.

Also do I need to tune the channel since its only 1 channel coming from sky?

Most people would setup the full EPG on that capture source, then add an IR Blaster so that GB-PVR can tell your sky box to change channels when it needs to.

Great just done all this, the only thing is I dont have an IR blaster but thats irrelevant. I have also set up EPG on the new composite source (which is the same file as my current analog antenna file).

I have just finished configuring the channels but I am not connected to sky yet as I need to move my PC into the living room which I will do later tonight.
